Peacehaven produced another stirring comeback to claim a third
victory of the season over Ringmer. Trailing at the break, the
Tye hit four second half goals to reach the quarter final of the
RUR Cup.
After Saturday's spectacular win at Chalfont, Pete Edwards
freshened up is team, with Danny Smith, Ryan Smith and Stuart
Garrod coming into the starting line up. A clash of colours had
seen Ringmer playing in Peacehaven's old away kit, but that
didn't stop them taking an early lead through Kieren Patel. When
Mark Price capitalised on a goalmouth scramble to claim a second
for Ringmer, Peacehaven seemed to be in real trouble.
They were a changed team after the break, and were back in
contention when Andy Wilkinson's header came back off the bar
and Craig Bunch followed up. With the wind behind them
Peacehaven were pouring forward, and they equalised when Callum
Saunders broke clear and set up Bunch for his fifth goal in two
games.
They went ahead when Saunders again escaped the visitors defence
and drove past Gary Trott. The victory was completed with
Saunders returning Carl Dunk's cross for his second of the
night.
