With Peacehaven still short of strikers there was some doubt as
to where the goals would come from for Pete Edwards' side. The
answer turns out to be waiting in (or on) the wings. Callum
Saunders and Andy Wilkinson have hit nine goals in the last five
matches. They both claimed a brace in this comfortable victory.
On a heavy pitch Peacehaven dominated from the start. They took
the lead after thiteen minutes as Saunders volleyed in with his
left foot after a corner wasn't cleared. Crowborough have had a
tough season, but they didn't lack spirit, and they started to
cause Peacehaven trouble as the half wore on. Jake Buss had to
be at his best to tip over Tom Saunders drive, as half time
approached.
The key moment came just after the break as Dave Adams brought
down Callum Saunders, who calmly steered in the resultant
penalty.
From then on Peacehaven were in total control. Andy Wilkinson
added a third minutes later, and completed the scoring when he
got on the end of Craig Bunch's cross. Peacehaven were also
delighted with a second consecutive clean sheet.
