Only an injury time equaliser prevented Peacehaven beating the
league leaders. An exciting match saw the Tye recover from
conceding an early goal only to be denied in injury time.
Chichester had taken advantage of Whitehawk's cup commitments to
lead the table and went into the match full of confidence.
They took an early lead when Joe Briggs skipped past Ben Swetman
and centred for Callum Cutler who drove past Jake Buss.
Peacehaven pushed forward and Swetman was unlucky not equalise
when his thirty yard effort hit the bar.
A Callum Saunders penalty drew Peacehaven level at the start of
the second half, and they thought they'd taken the lead when a
Tom Burton header flew in. An offside flag denied them on that
occasion, but soon afterwards Craig Bunch played in Saunders,
and this time Peacehaven were ahead.
In injury time a last desperate effort from Chichester culminated
with Lee Bullen bundling the ball home to earn his side a point.
