  Arson attack at

  Piddinghoe Avenue
Peacehaven's facilities came under attack last Wednesday, with a mindless act of vandalism - which could have had far worse consequences. (Committee Member John Tiller and Chairman Jim Edwards survey some of the damage >>>>)

Firstly, at around 8 p.m. an attempt was made to break into the Clubhouse. Entry was forced through the first door, but the culprits were unable to breach the next door - and made their escape.

Around 5 hours later the fire brigade were called after the away dug-out had been set ablaze with 2 gas canisters placed inside. Thankfully the fire was extinguised before any serious damage was done. Three youths were seen fleeing across the nearby field. One was described as of mixed race, wearing a dark top and jeans and the others were described as white, one wearing a dark top and dark trousers and the other wearing a white top and dark trousers.

Security has since been increased at the Ground, and anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 127 of 2 June.
