Aaron Gunn and Ben
Dartnell all making their first appearance in the
black and white.
Peacehaven made a nervy start against opponents
who have strengthened an already formidable
side, and soon fell behind. Jerrell Hughes cross
was met by a stooping header from Wes Tate to
give the hawks the lead.
Peacehaven grew in strength as the half
progressed, and started to create chances.
Levitt and Kneller both went close as half time
approached. Peacehaven were now showing flair
and fluency and putting the Ryman League side
under pressure.
Whitehawk took control at the start of the
second half, with strikes from Hughes and Tate
easing them clear. Peacehaven were tiring, but
showed commmendable spirit to keep going.
Whitehawk's pre season started a month ago and
already includes a victory over the Albion,
which should put this result in context!
Martin Grant added a fourth for the Hawks late
on, exploiting a tired home defence and applying
a smart finish.
