   Redhill  1  Peacehaven & T.  0

Peacehaven were left ruing missed chances as they fell to defeat at Redhill. This drab encounter was settled by Andrew Dalhouse's second half strike, but the result would have been different had Peacehaven shown more of a cutting edge. Last seasons encounters between these sides were some of the most memorable of the campaign, but this was an altogether more staid affair. Neither team yet has the spark of last season, and there was a distinct tentativeness to both teams play.

Peacehaven weren't helped by being without a number of players, including Ashley Rees and Aaron Gunn.  The match was preceeded by a minute's silence for Redhill player Rio McFarland, who had tragically died in midweek, and that overshadowed the whole day.

Peacehaven were calling for an early penalty when Craig Bunch appeared to have been brought down, but the officials were unmoved.  Shortly afterwards Rob O'Toole put an unchallenged header wide following a corner, and Bunch and O'Toole both somehow failed to beat Chris May from point blank range. You sensed that the misses may come back to haunt Peacehaven.

Redhill had offered little threat in the first half, but began to take control of the match after half time. Increasingly dominant in midfield, they were now beginning to put the visiting defence under concerted pressure.

A mistake from Joe Adams let in Dalhouse, but Craig Hall scrambled his shot off the line. The reprieve was short lived though, as a mix up between Adam Kneller and Jamie Cullinane let in Dalhouse, and this time he took his chance.

Redhill should really have wrapped the game up after this, but they preceeded to miss a succession of clear cut chances. Peacehaven were still in the game, and thought they'd snatched a point in injury time, only for May to produce a superb save from a Tom Levitt header.

Peacehaven kept going, but were never able to create enough momentum to force their way back into the match, and went home empty handed.
