Sidlesham U18's
0 Peacehaven U18's 2
Everyone had to get up early for this
one, a long trip to Sidlesham in the Sussex Youth
Cup, but the result made it worthwhile as Peacehaven
progessed into the 2nd Round.
With Josh Heyburn sidelined, and no
other keeper available, Joe Panther pulled on the
gloves for an emergency appearance between the
sticks, and managed to keep a clean sheet in this
bruising encounter.
After a goalless first half, Freddie
Barker put Peacehaven infront on 68 minutes and then
doubled the lead 2 minutes later. Sidlesham always
looked dangerous, but Peacehaven held on to record a
creditable victory.
Speaking after the game, manager
Shaun Saunders was full of praise for everyone.
"They where a big side and we had to dig in and
battle for this result. It was a good all-round
performance"
The Under 18's now face the winners
of today's game between Sedlescombe and Wick (Away)
in the 2nd Round.
