With
Scott Marshall and Clive Snell both still
unavailable, Peacehaven handed full debuts to 2
players (both pictured).
Mike James started at right back, allowing Craig
Hall to play a midfield role, and 17 year old Tom
Tyler played in front of Matt Hill on the left wing.
Peacehaven coped well with the early pace Three

on the game, but fell behind on 20
minutes when Andrew Ducille burst through and drove
over Joe Adams from distance. The goal was hotly
disputed as it appeared he'd fouled Aaron Gunn
before shooting, but despite the protests the goal
stood. As we neared half
time chances were being created at the other end,
the best of which fell to Craig Bunch. After timing
his run perfectly, a through ball left him
one-on-one with the keeper, but his shot was
agonisingly tipped wide by Simon Lockwood.
Within 3 minutes of the restart,
Bridges had doubled their lead. A defensive mix-up
allowed Marlon Maxwell the simplest of tasks to
score.
Despite this, Peacehaven were
never out of the game. Another glorious opportunity
fell to Craig Bunch who again beat the offside
trap, only to see his header drop the the wrong side
of the post, and a goalmouth scramble seemed only to
require a Peacehaven touch to reduce the deficit,
but it never came.
An "attempts on goal" count would
certainly have put Peacehaven way in front, but that
counts for nothing. Bridges' push for their first
ever title
continues, whilst Peacehaven will be focusing on
their FA Vase fixture this weekend hoping to turn
their fortunes around.
