Having
hit 15 goals in their last 3 games, it looked like
it could be "more of the same" here at East Brighton
Park, as Peacehaven raced to a 2 goal lead in this
local derby
After just 4 minutes, a Tom Tyler
corner was bundled in by Connor Saunders (left) and

before
the home side had time to settle another Tyler
corner was met perfectly by Freddie Barker whose
header thundered in off the underside of the bar.
That goal means he has now scored in all of the last
6 games.
Peacehaven controlled the midfield in the first
half, and every time they broke, you felt another
goal was on the cards. Kit Chell in the home goal
did well to keep out a |

barrage of shots on 24 minutes, and
we had to wait until the half hour mark before
Whitehawk had their first attempt on goal.
The home side tightened up their
midfield in the second half and that, together with
Peacehaven kicking uphill against a stiffening
breeze, made it a more even contest.
Jamie Witham did well to keep out
a goal-bound attempt as we neared the end of the
game, but with 5 minutes remaining, Whitehawk
suddenly found themselves back in the game. A
through ball found substitute Callum Macaulay who'd
beaten the offside trap, and he kept his nerve to
fire past Witham into the bottom corner.
It proved to be too late for
Whitehawk though - and Peacehaven's unbeaten start
to the season continues.
