The Reserve Team progressed to the 3rd Round of the Intermediate Cup with a well earned 2-0 victory at Bexhill United.

Bexhill had the better of the first half which saw Peacehaven keeper Dan Mcdonnell pull off a full length save to keep the score at 0-0 at the break.

The introduction of Sam Jeffery at half time seemed to spark some life in the Peacehaven team and it was Jeffrey who opened the scoring 3 minutes after the restart with a thunderous strike past the Bexhill keeper after cutting in off the right wing.

Peacehaven took control of the second half and on 73 minutes, Jake Powell (pictured) pounced on a mix up between a Bexhill defender and keeper to win the game and see Mcdonnell keep his second clean sheet in as many games.

Speaking on Sunday, Manager Richard Whittington reflected  "It was a poor first half but the second was much improved, and some good performances saw us run out comfortable winners in the end"

They now go on to face either Three Bridges Reserves or Robertsbridge United (at home) in the 3rd Round
