  Peacehaven & T.  2  East Grinstead T.  0

Peacehaven moved into the top half of the table after a third win in a week. A debut goal from Ryan Bradley (pictured) helped to secure the points, alongside another clean sheet. It was a largely comfortable victory, which was only threatened after a late and unnecessary red card for Scott Marshall appeared to hand the visitors a life line.

East Grinstead had beaten Peacehaven on the opening day of the season, but since then their anticipated title challenge has failed to materialise, and they arrived in the midst of a run of five defeats in six matches (and having only ever won once before at Peacehaven in 15 previous attempts)

Craig Bunch returned to the starting line up for Peacehaven, with new signing  Ryan Bradley starting on the bench. The wasps were clearly nervous in defence, after conceding an alarming number of goals in recent weeks, and they opted for a safety first approach, with one striker and a packed midfield.

That handed the initiative to Peacehaven, who soon took the lead. Aaron Gunn won the ball on the edge of the area, and found Craig Hall, whose low cross left Ashley Rees with a tap in.

East Grinstead responded well, and should have been level before half time. A chip from Chris Dicker was met by a glancing header from Liam Baitup, which flew just wide, and the same player narrowly failed to find the target with a snap shot shortly afterwards.

The decisive moment of the match came midway through the second half. Bradley and Clive Snell had been introduced to pep up a tiring home attack, and they combined to put Peacehaven two ahead. Snell's clever pass found Bradley inside the area, and he spun off Peter Featherstone and drilled a low shot into the back of the net.

Peacehaven should have been in cruise control, but Marshall then managed to collect two yellow cards in five minutes for arguing with the referee, and the wasps sensed there might still be a chance.

They had plenty of the ball, but were unable to exert any consistant pressure, and Peacehaven emerged with a comfortable victory.
