1 Wick Res. 2
The Reserves are still looking for
their first League win of the season after losing
2-1 at home to Wick.
They lined up with an unfamiliar
4-5-1 to start the game and despite being the better
team in the opening few minutes they went behind to
an 8th minute goal against the run of play.
Peacehaven had the better chances
throughout the first half with the Wick keeper the
busier of the two, he made a good double save off of
a Darren Wall effort and a good save with his legs
from a Dean Gilmour freekick.
Halftime saw Matt Rozzier come on
for Michael Page and a change of formation back to
the usual 4-4-2. Neither keeper was troubled much in
the second half and on 76 minutes Wick sealed the
win after a ball in behind the Peacehaven back line
was put passed the on-rushing Dan Mcdonnell.
Joe Spencer nicked a late
consolation goal on 87 minutes to reward his hard
work.
Speaking after the game, Manager
Richard Whittington commented, "It was a
disappointing loss today. We lacked a cutting edge
- and inexperience cost us. But we are a very young side
with good players and we are learning things about
ourselves every game"
