The Reserve Team made their exit from the Intermediate Cup after putting in a battling performance against a strong Three Bridges team.

The first half had been quite an even affair, but the breakthrough came on the stroke of half-time. Three Bridges were awarded a penalty after Aaron Birch had been judged to have fouled a Bridges player inside the box, and Michael Death converted the resultant kick.

Callum Wiltshire had to be substituted at half time and he was replaced by Matt Lago as Peacehaven changed to an attacking formation, looking to turn the result around.

As they pushed forward after the interval, Bridges were able to catch the home side on the break with another goal from Death, and another attempt taking a cruel deflection off Aaron Birch to put them 3 in front.

Death then went on to complete his hat-trick with another breakaway goal, and Peacehaven were eventually rewarded for their efforts 3 minutes from time. A good interchange of passing resulted in Matt Rozzier firing in a low cross which Michael Page ran on to an clipped the ball in for Peacehaven's consolation goal.

Speaking on Sunday, Caretaker-Manager John Hogben said, "They all battled really hard against a very good side. Their heads never dropped and they fought to the end. Perhaps we were beaten by a better side - but I think the result flattered them"
