Peacehaven and
Crowborough fought out an entertaining draw on
Saturday, which both sides will have felt they
should have won. It was a result which took
Peacehaven into the top five for the first time
this season, and extended their unbeaten run
into double figures.
For Crowborough it was
an encouraging result in a rather inconsistant
season, but Dave Adams will probably feel that his
sides second half performance merited all three
points.
Peacehaven brought
Craig Bunch into the starting line up to replace
Andy Wilkinson, who has returned to America, and
had Ashley Rees available for the first time in
eight games. The combination of those two
alongside Ryan Bradley and Rob O'Toole promises
to make for an exciting end to the season.
Crowborough went into the match on the back of a
five match unbeaten run, but they were on the
back foot from the start on Saturday.
Peacehaven had
plenty of the ball, but their attacking moves
were repeatedly breaking down in midfield, much
to the frustration of their forwards. It was
compounding the angst incurred by the hundred
and twenty minute shut out against Rustington,
and it was becoming hard to see where a goal
would come from.
When it did come it
was a spectacular strike. Tom Levitt played an
intelligent pass to Bradley who fed Bunch, and
he chipped over Ben Head and into the roof of
the net. Bradley came agonisingly close to
adding a second shortly before the break, but
the match changed completely after half time.
With the wind at
their back Crowborough started to force the
visitors back and put pressure on a hitherto
untroubled defence. They got their reward
