St Francis Rang. Res  4  Peacehaven Res.  0

Sat 22nd Jan, 2011.      Reserve Section Premier.

  Match details below

After last weeks encouraging results against Selsey, the Reserves where brought back down to earth with a heavy defeat at St Francis.

There was only one change from last weeks side, with Sean Caffrey returning and replacing Joe Spencer, and the match was quite an even affair until near the half hour mark when Zaid Ali struck to put the home side in front.

The turning point of the game was from 5 minutes from the break when Neil Lucey scored to increase their lead, and so make the 2nd half an uphill battle for Peacehaven.

10 minutes after half time Thomas Pinnock made it 3-0 and effectively kill the game, and a goal from Paul Whetstone, 2 minutes from time, completed the scoring.

Peacehaven's best chance was a shot from Sam Wells, which was well saved by

the St Francis keeper. Appeals that it had crossed the line where waved away, which just about summed up Peacehaven's afternoon.

The defeat sends them back to the foot of the table, but with games in hand, a couple of good results now would quickly see them in a much healthier position.
