MATCH FACTS BELOW
The
Under 18's progressed to the Quarter-Finals of
the John Ullman Cup today with an impressive
victory at last seasons winners Dulwich Hamlet.
Peacehaven made two changes to the line-up which
had beaten Southwick on Thursday with Adam
Harris and Steven Whelan replacing Charlie Miles
and Frazer Massen and made their intentions
clear from the start - forcing 4 corners in the
opening 10 minutes.
Dulwich were struggling to cope with the
visiting midfield, and Peacehaven took the lead
on 20 minutes when Adam Harris and Freddie
Barker combined to set up Steven Whelan who
tapped in at the far post.
Peacehaven continued to force the game, and soon
doubled their lead when Connor Saunders' pass
found Whelan out wide and, after playing a 1-2
with Barker, his cross found Harrison Cullinane
who smashed home his first goal for the Under
18's this season.
The
goal forced Dulwich into a tactical change, and
they were soon dictating the pace of the game.
By half time they had reduced the deficit when
Ashley Wright fired home and they took the
initiative at the start of the 2nd half.
Peacehaven where now under severe pressure, and
the home side drew level after the referee ruled
that Jim Thomson's challenge on a Dulwich
forward was a penalty - despite furious appeals
from the visiting contingent that the incident
occured at least a yard outside the area!! The
referee was unmoved, and |
