The second half was a complete
contrast to the first, with Peacehaven playing a
much more controlled game. Chances fell to
Steven Whelan and Steffan Robinson-Webster as
they pressed forward looking for the equaliser.
They nearly went 2 behind after
they were caught on the break, but the Selsey
effort came back off the post. Shorlty after,
Jake Powell nearly levelled the scores when his
rasping drive from 30 yards seemed goal-bound
but somehow sneaked past the post.
With the minutes ticking away, it
seemed that it was going to be a frustrating
afternoon for Peacehaven, but with 5 minutes
remaining they finally made the break-through.
Sam Wells cut in from the right wing, and his
low shot squeezed under the keeper to give
Peacehaven a deserved point.
They remain in 10th place, but
with only 3 points separating them and the 3
sides above them, and with games in hand, they
will be hoping the character and belief they've
shown over the last 2 months will help see them
through to a mid-table spot. |
