After a courageous challenge at Eastbourne United, three late goals temporarily put paid to Peacehaven's hopes of climbing out of the bottom four in the Reserve Section Premier.

The home side were bolstered by the fact their 1st Team were without a fixture, but still the opening 45 minutes was quite an even affair.

Simon Parsons produced two great saves to keep the scores level, whilst Peacehaven were unlucky not to take the lead themselves. A trade-mark free kick from Tom Tyler was met by Aaron Birch, but his header hit the bar and away to safety.

The home side edged the possession in the first half, but Peacehaven began to take a hold of the game after the break.

Despite this, their good build-up play was unable to produce an end result, and

they ended up paying the price.

With 9 minutes remaining, Eastbourne found a way through the offside trap and their forward took the ball around Parsons before firing in. After the hard efforts of the afternoon, Peacehaven's heads dropped, and worse was to come.

Two minutes later they were further behind after the Eastbourne forward ran into the box and survived 3 tackles before bundling the ball in and 2 minutes from time Peacehaven's frustrating afternoon was rounded off when a ball in from the wing was converted from close range.

They now have to focus on next weeks trip to bottom placed Wick, where a win will revive their hopes of avoiding the drop.
