Hassocks U18's  2  Peacehaven & T. U18's  3

Sun 3rd April, 2011.      Youth Section (Central).

  Report of 2nd game below

It was a busy morning for the Under 18's as they took on Hassocks twice in order to clear the fixture back-log. It was agreed to play 2 games of 30 minutes each way, and it was Peacehaven who came away with 6 points.

The first game was a much closer affair with nothing between to two sides as we approached half-time. With 7 minutes remaining, a Matt Nuttman pass found Steven Whelan who opened the scoring.

Three minutes later Whelan added a second after running on to a pass from Steffan Robinson-Webster before calmly finishing.

Hassocks fought back bravely after the break and where soon back in the game. A cross from Mullyard out on the wing found Will Baker who reduced the deficit and 8 minutes from time it looked like they may claim what had looked an unlikely point when Ollie Lambert's shot found it's way past Heyburn to level the scores.

Their joy was short-lived however as, with 3 minutes left on the clock, Freddie Barker ran onto a cross and fired in from outside the box to give Peacehaven a hard earned 3 points.

Hassocks U18's  0  Peacehaven & T. U18's  7

Sun 3rd April, 2011.      Youth Section (Central).

After a short break, the sides took to the field for the second game with Peacehaven's only change being Connor Saunders starting in place of Joe Panther.

The visitors took the lead after only 8 minutes when Matt Lago fired in from outside the box, and 4 minutes later came the turning point of the game. A Hassocks defender was dismissed after head-butting Freddie Barker, and from then on it was one-way traffic.

Within six minutes a Steven Whelan ball found Barker who converted his second goal of the day, and soon after, a Tom Tyler corner was headed home by Connor Saunders to put Peacehaven 3 ahead at the break.

There was no reprieve for the home side in the second half with Harrison Cullinane adding a 4th on 49 minutes, and a minute later substitiute Joe Panther's pass found Steven Whelan who made it 5-0

There was still no let up by Peacehaven, and two minutes later a well worked move involving Connor Saunders and Matt Lago ended with Joe Panther making

it six.

With three minutes remaining, Charlie Miles found Joe Panther outside the box and he fired home to complete the scoring.
