The Central Division Champions title had been secured nearly a month ago, and Whitehawk where out of he running for second spot, but there's an old saying in football that any game worth playing is worth winning, and both sides took that on board as these local rivals went head-to-head in the final game of the season.

There were 3 changes to the Peacehaven line-up from their last game at Shoreham 2 weeks ago. Tom Stutters and Matt Nuttman returned to the line-up whilst there was a first start of the season for Brad Langley. Connor Saunders and Steffan Robinson-Webster both started on the bench whilst Harrison Cullinane was unavailable.

Peacehaven made a lively start and a Tom Tyler shot produced a good save from Fidler in the home goal. Steven Whelan and Matt Nuttman both went close for the visitors, before Williamson's shot was blocked by Joe Panther in the Peacehaven goal.

Matt Nuttman then saw a shot cleared off the line, and Fidler then saved well from a Brad Langley effort to keep the scores level at the break, which was a fair reflection of the opening half.

Peacehaven began to up the tempo after the break and were rewarded just after the hour. A Brad Langley cross found Matt Nuttman who headed home is first goal of the season.

Ten minutes later Nuttman doubled his tally, this time running on to a ball from Matt Lago before firing home.

Whitehawk pulled a goal back 15 minutes from time when Sonny Williamson converted a cross to set up a tense finish, but Peacehaven held on to complete an impressive League campaign.

Meanwhile, Eastbourne Borough have clinched the Eastern Section, and will be Peacehaven's opponents on Thursday evening (at Priory Lane - 7.30) to decide who will meet Chichester City in next Sunday's Play-off Final.
