have scored.
At the other end Craig Bunch was
unable to find the target with his head after
good work from Tom Levitt. The match was
extremely scrappy, with neither side able to
hold onto the ball for any length of time, but
against the run of play Peacehaven took the lead
just before the break.
Clive Snell broke into the box
and "collided" with a Selsey defender. To most
people's surprise the referee pointed to the
spot, and for the second time this week Adam
Kneller scored.
Many of the home supporters
felt it was a lead Peacehaven didn't deserve,
and perhaps they agreed, as they gifted Selsey
an equaliser just after half time. Levitt's
under hit back pass went straight to Sean Barnes
who was brought down by Wes Coleman. Sean Dobbs
penalty sailed home and suddenly the match was
looking decidedly tricky for Peacehaven.
They belatedly started to
build up some momentum, and were soon dominating
proceedings. Rob O'Toole had a couple of good
efforts, and Ryan Bradley had a shot cleared off
the line as the pressure grew.
The dam broke when Bradley hit
a post and Bunch followed up to put Peacehaven
back in front. When Bradley glanced in from
Snell's free kick Peacehaven were comfortably
ahead, and it was a lead that was never really
threatened. Peacehaven will now await the
results of Rye's remaining fixtures to see if
they get a bronze or silver medal! |
