Peacehaven Res.  1  St Francis Rang. Res  2

Sat 27th Aug, 2011.      Reserve Section Premier.

 Match details below

The Reserves frustrating start to the season continued on Saturday with the visit of St Francis Rangers.

With players either unavailable or on 1st Team duty, they went into the game with a somewhat depleted squad, but will have been heartened by their first half performance, which saw them take a deserved lead after 27 minutes.

Sean Caffrey's cross from the left wing wasn't cleared properly, and the ball bounced invitingly for Steffen Robinson-Webster who fired home his first of the season. Callum Wiltshire had a chance to increase the lead, and on the whole the home side just about edged a close first half.

St Francis pulled themselves back into the game 15 minutes into the second half in bizarre circumstances. Daley Clark's free kick hit the underside of the crossbar and struck Josh Heyburn on the back of the head before crossing the line.

Despite the disappointment, Peacehaven continued to push forward but where unable to capitalize on some good approach play.

With time running out, and a draw looking the likely result, St Francis snatched the points when the ball was pulled back from the left wing and Chris Cook's effort found it's way past Josh Heyburn.

On Friday evening they entertain Sidley United where 3 points would take them to a healthy mid-table position.
