In
soaring temperatures, the Peacehaven made an
early exit from the Reserve Section Cup at
Littlehampton on Saturday.
Tom Tyler was back from injury
after being out for a month, whilst Sam Jeffery
made his first start of the season, along-side
Charlie Miles who recently returned from Ringmer.
In the opening stages, Peacehaven
where enjoying some early possession, but fell
behind after 21 minutes when a clearance from a
corner was chipped back into the box and Carl
Stocker fired in at an angle to open the
scoring.
The home keeper made a good save
from Robertas Kupetis soon after, but
Littlehampton increased their lead on the half
hour mark. A long drop kick produced a misguided
header from Chris Barton and Stanley Elder
lobbed the ball over the onrushing Simon
Parsons.
The deficit was reduced 5 minutes
later when an inswinging corner found Matt
Nuttman, and his header squeezed in off the
inside of the post.
